Got Your Back

Going through a tough time?

God Almighty says to you, “Remember, I’ve got your back.”

Before the foundation of the world, the Lord decided to take care of absolutely everything for His beloved saints so that our victory in Him would never be lacking. Before time even began, He collected every single one of our sins -big and small, known and unknown- and lugged them all right to Calvary where He willingly and lovingly forgave each one in advance (Col. 2:13-14).

His clever plan gave Him the opportunity to relate to us as if we had never sinned in the first place (2 Cor. 5:17), as if we sport His own righteousness (2 Cor. 5:21) having been perfected once-for-all-time by his perfect, eternal sacrifice (Heb. 10:12-14).

Our great God Who is so rich in mercy and grace, brought us to life in Christ while we were cold dead in our sins and has already seated us in the heavenly realms with Christ Himself (Eph. 2:4-6).

That’s right. Read it for yourself…

Colossians 2:13-14 And you who were dead in trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your flesh (your sensuality, your sinful carnal nature), [God] brought to life together with [Christ], having [freely] forgiven us all our transgressions,

14 Having cancelled and blotted out and wiped away the handwriting of the note (bond) with its legal decrees and demands which was in force and stood against us (hostile to us). This [note with its regulations, decrees, and demands] He set aside and cleared completely out of our way by nailing it to [His] cross.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!

2 Corinthians 5:21 For our sake He made Christ [virtually] to be sin Who knew no sin, so that in and through Him we might become [endued with, viewed as being in, and examples of] the righteousness of God [what we ought to be, approved and acceptable and in right relationship with Him, by His goodness].

Ephesians 2:4-6 But God—so rich is He in His mercy! Because of and in order to satisfy the great and wonderful and intense love with which He loved us,

Even when we were dead (slain) by [our own] shortcomings and trespasses, He made us alive together in fellowship and in union with Christ; [He gave us the very life of Christ Himself, the same new life with which He quickened Him, for] it is by grace (His favor and mercy which you did not deserve) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation).

And He raised us up together with Him and made us sit down together [giving us joint seating with Him] in the heavenly sphere [by virtue of our being] in Christ Jesus (the Messiah, the Anointed One).

Cheer up! He’s got your back.
