What would you say if I told you that you could have this S.W.A.T. team escorting you as your own personal body guards wherever you go? Well, you can. There are two ways.
One way to have such protection is to hire them out. Unfortunately, that will be pretty costly.
The other way to have complete protection at all times is to come into covenant with the Almighty allowing His reign in your life while walking according to the Word of God. We know that 20th century science has validated Biblical reality and walking in step with the Holy Spirit through the inexhaustible Word of God is the maximum protection. When you walk in the will of God there is nothing that can penetrate His purposes for you. Nothing.
God is our friend in Christ Jesus and wants only the best for us: His will. That’s why He provides for us the living, breathing message of Who He is in the Holy Bible containing the laws of the universe for every area of life. When we learn and apply His Word in context as revealed through the Holy Spirit in order to know Him, He provides beautiful instruction for our benefit and protection.
Not to delve in to semantics, but that’s not to say that He can’t or won’t protect us if we’re not walking in His ways because He does it all the time (Is. 45:5) — for His purposes. But when we choose to walk in the Word of God, we eliminate unnecessary bad things that could happen to us. That is to say that we will still experience pain and suffering, but only to the extent that is necessary according to His purposes in conforming us to the image of Christ. Many of the other unnecessary bad things are eliminated by submission to the laws of the universe which He created because every law in the universe operates in accordance with the Word of God. For example, pride comes before a fall (Prov. 16:18). When you walk in humility, you avoid the falling that results from walking in pride.
Yes, we are living in a fallen world. Yes, bad things have happened to us. And yes, they will continue to happen in some measure whether or not we cooperate with the law of the universe revealed God’s Word. The only question is whether or not all of these bad things happening to us are really necessary. Many of the bad things that happen to us are not necessary because in them we are going our own way whether we realize it or not. Going our own way is leaning to our own understanding, walking in independence of God or just disregarding His ways thinking we know better.
The decision to study, know and obey the Word of God is a gift to ourselves because not only do we come to know the Creator of the universe, but we seriously minimize our appointed time enduring pain, suffering, hardship and adversity.
Take the time to learn obedience to His Word.
Take the time to align your heart with His Spirit.
Take the time to live in agreement with His ways.
When we obey the Word of God, we are blessed because we have the universe and its Creator in our favor. And not if, but when, bad things happen we will already know what to do. Simply walk through them obeying the Word of God. Obedience to God’s Word is the ultimate form of protection, here and in to eternity.
But He said, Blessed (happy and to be envied) rather are those who hear the Word of God and obey and practice it!
But be doers of the Word [obey the message], and not merely listeners to it, betraying yourselves [into deception by reasoning contrary to the Truth].
Take firm hold of instruction, do not let go; guard her, for she is your life.
I considered my ways; I turned my feet to [obey] Your testimonies.
I am the Lord, and there is no one else; there is no God besides Me. I will gird and arm you, though you have not known Me,
Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.
In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.
Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.
He who obeys instruction guards his soul.
The Lord God is my Strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army; He makes my feet like hinds’ feet and will make me to walk [not to stand still in terror, but to walk] and make [spiritual] progress upon my high places [of trouble, suffering, or responsibility]!
