We are souls. Souls are we. And all equal before God.

From the homeless man asleep on the park bench to the President of the United States, from the emaciated African babe to Her Majesty the Queen of the British Monarchy, we are all souls.

Queen of United Kingdom (as well as Canada, Au...No matter our status or fame or earnings, no matter our deeds or words or thoughts, we are equal before Him as humans.

Difficult it is for us to comprehend that in God’s estimation, all souls are equal. That’s right, every single soul weighs the same to Him.

Unfortunately, in our little human minds we tend to judge or categorize people, placing ourselves above them in pride or below them in shame. But neither approach is necessary or helpful.

God is like the sun and people like blades of grass. (Can you hear their thoughts? They’re sizing up other blades taller or greener.)

Regardless of the comparisons we make among ourselves, there is only One with whom we can ever compare ourselves in all fairness. Yes, reality is you or me compared not with each another, but with Almighty God. And in our comparison with Him we get no accolades, no trophies, no clothes, no fig leaves, no excuses. None of those will do. Just the naked soul face to face with Almighty God.

If we could peek below the surface, behind the face of each person, each skin color, each lifestyle, we would see another soul just like ours.

Did you ask to be born? I didn’t either. No soul did. We are each simply trying our best to deal with our circumstances while figuring out what this life is all about.

We are hungry for acceptance, for connection, for love and for belonging.

It may not occur to us, but we are searching for the Almighty Love Source in everything we do. In performing for accolades, in seeking fulfillment in relationships, in battling addictions, in seeking our next quest which we secretly suspect just might hit that eternal spot inside.

We long to walk in the Light. To leave behind illusion and deception. To rest comfortably in the only Deep and Satisfying Filler of the human soul.

Pure holy perfection. Love to the maximum times ten zillion. Like nothing we could ever conjure up in our wildest dreams. The Lover of Souls waits for us to see our need for Him.

When that next accolade or relationship falls short. When that next high burns out. When that next thing just isn’t enough. One day we will finally see.

He is here and now. The Lover and Equalizer of our souls has been here all along.

Job 34:19
[God] is not partial to princes, nor does He regard the rich more than the poor, for they all are the work of His hands.

Romans 10:21
But of Israel he says, All day long I have stretched out My hands to a people unyielding and disobedient and self-willed [to a faultfinding, contrary, and contradicting people].

Matthew 16:26
For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life [his blessed life in the kingdom of God]? Or what would a man give as an exchange for his [blessed] life [in the kingdom of God]?

John 3:16
For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.
